I’ve been getting a slew of emails all on the same subject. To everyone that asked for a tab to a song: It’s coming soon!
I’ve decided to take the week to work on a cool project but I’ll be back on July 4th with something different.
I want to help everyone that has asked for help and those out there that as yet haven’t.
Next week will be a one week course in Folk Banjo. After next week you should have all the tools you will ever need to play Folk Banjo. I’ll go into more detail on Monday.
See you all then,
Kelly
I got a great video today from Banjostu. I really love this song and they did a great version.
I also lost track of the days of the week. Before I knew it, it was Monday morning and I had to go to work. Since I missed a day, I decided to work on some of the special offers I have in mind for those of you who were nice enough to order Irish Pub Song For The 5-String Banjo Vol 1.
I have a great idea in mind, but I need a few days to get it going and finish up. I’l be back and if anyone has a video they want to share, send it along.

We had a blast once again at our Monthly Chicagoland Jam. We were a small but rowdy gang. We all ended up planning our trip to Henry Reed next year.

While I was at the Henry Reed Memorial Fiddler’s Convention in Glynn Lyn, VA, I received my new banjo.
It was custom made for me by Neil Turner at Buzzard Mountain Banjos.
It is a long-neck banjo with a flat head tone ring. It has no fret markings and rings out loud and proud. I will be putting up more pictures and a video soon.

We are sitting around picking some songs and having a great time!

We’re having fun at Henry Reed and enjoying the friendship and music.
I’ll been updating all weekend!
Kelly

This month was another full house and a good time was had by all!
I didn’t take any videos this month, but I do have some photos. Next month I’ll have to record again.
There are two choices, a physical book and a PDF download.
The physical book is 8.5″ x 11″ at a great price of $19.95.
The PDF download is $14.95.
I have put together my 20 most requested songs to create the first volume of my Irish Pub Song For The 5-String Banjo series.
Follow the link below to make your choice. Have fun and enjoy!!!!
I have the dates for the next three Chicagoland Jam Sessions. If you are interested, just drop me a note
The sessions are open to anyone no matter what skill level.
We usually start around 2pm and end after midnight.
Here are the dates:
Saturday May 22nd
Saturday June 19th
Saturday July 17th
I hope to see you there.
Saturday was our April Chicagoland Acoustic Jam. It was a full house even though Bill and Jim didn’t make it. We had two fiddle players, two mandolin players, three guitar players, two on banjo and one very special young Bret on the viola.
My studio lights went out after the jam, so it will be a few days before I can make any more videos. I’ll see you all some time next week.
Until then, enjoy some of the songs from the Jam Session.
