19 years ago, my little buddy, Omega was born. He’s been with me through thick and thin.

He doesn’t move as fast as he used to and sleeps even more, but he still makes his way to my lap every evening.

I don’t know what I’d do without him. He’s my sweet boy so I make sure that every year I celebrate his birthday.

Oh, yeah….it’s Sandy’s birthday too.

Well folks, it’s been way, way, way too long. I finished up the last of the students that I have been helping out with and I am hoping that my weekends will be a little more free and open.

It’s been a fun, but very, very busy last five months. It everything goes according to plan, I should be able to plan some videos this weekend. So if it all goes well, the Irish Pub Song Of The Day and Folk Song Of The Week will be back this coming week.

Joel and I have formed a duo/trio called Make’m Sing and we have been performing every Wednesday night for months. It takes up a lot of my free time, but we have been having a blast. Last week we were able to live stream the feed and I am hoping that tonight’s goes without a hitch as well. Once it’s up, I’ll probably do a quick edit and put it up on YouTube again. I may just do this every week and see how it goes.

The folks at Shanahan’s have been great and I’ve really enjoyed being there every week. Let’s hope that it continues for the foreseeable future.

This last weekend, Amber, Sandy and I headed off to NYC. We had a great time sightseeing and taking in the city. While we were there, I was able to make it to the WWE Hall Of Fame and WrestleMania 29. We had a blast!

I never thought that I would be able to see Bruno Sammartino sell out Madison Square Garden in person. He sold out the Garden over 180 times. That is just an incredible amount of times that one person was able to fill every seat in the Garden. I always loved Bruno and when it was announced that he would finally accept an invitation into the Hall Of Fame, I had to be there. It didn’t hurt that one of my all time favorites, Mick Foley was going into the Hall Of Fame as well. I’ve met Mick a few times and he is one hell of a nice guy. He even gave my band, Another Pint a plug years ago calling us “Chicago’s best Irish Band”. I use it to this day.

Let’s see how things go and if all works according to plan, I’ll see you all on Monday!

We’ll keep doing this every week and it should get better every time.

Sorry folks, we had technical difficulties that we figured out 2 minutes after the show was over. That’s just the way it goes. We’ll do it all again next week.

Hello everyone,

I am so sorry that I have been gone for so long. I really thought that I would have been caught up and finished with my extra projects long before now.

I am hoping to have some time to create more videos for next week. I have also been asked to create a podcast with my friend Eric Bushman. I think the first one will be very short and sweet and we’ll see how it goes from there.

I should also be live streaming our Make’m Sing shows on Wednesday nights from 9 pm to Midnight Central time starting this week. Hopefully the technology won’t let me down and we can get it set up and running Wednesday night.

I should have the streaming located here on the webpage for those that want to watch. I’ve been asked for it and Shanahan’s was nice enough to let us try it out and see how it goes.

I am really hoping to have all of projects that I have been helping out on completed by the end of the week so that I can get back to making some videos. Teaching over Skype is fun, but I also love the little bit of time that it takes to create the videos.

After that, I’m going to see Bruno get inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame!

I’m sorry folks that I’ve been gone for so long. The good news is that I should be back next Monday and hopefully I am not out as long as I was this time.

It’s been a busy couple of months and Joel and I have been performing every week and having a blast. This week should see the last of my extra duties and everything should be back to normal. I’ve really missed making the videos and I can’t wait until I have the cameras rolling again.

Once again, I am sorry that I was away for so long, but I have a hard time saying no to old friends.

I started writing this last week and time just slipped away from me and I wasn’t able to complete it. Last week was a really great week. I didn’t know it while it was happening, but it was all around a really, really wonderful week.

Like I posted a month ago, I had to change my schedule around to help out a friend and I have been constantly exhausted and unable to get anything I want to get done, accomplished. I was so run down and tired that by Wednesday afternoon, I could feel a terrible cold and sore throat coming on.

I was scared to death that I wouldn’t be able to perform that night and I knew that there was no way that I could carry the sound equipment into the pub without help. Usually Joel shows up just in time to tune up and plug in and I was terrified that I wouldn’t be ready in time. On Wednesdays, I jump straight into my car from work, head to the pub, unload everything and set up the sound system so that we are ready to go by 9 pm.

The ladies at Shanahan’s are great and they always take time to say hello and open up the back door so I can carry everything in. This time, I pulled into the parking lot and wondered how I was going to be able to physically carry everything into the bar and then set it up. I was really not up to the task and I was trying to figure out a way to circumvent my sore throat and general weakness.

I turned off my car, grabbed my phone and decided that I would just have to lug in one piece at a time until it was all done. As soon as stepped out of the car, Joel walked up and said “Do you need a hand?” I could have cried on the spot if I wasn’t a full grown man in the parking lot of an Irish pub. Needless to say, God answered my prayers and Joel took the lion’s share of the equipment into the bar and in no time at all we were ready to play.

I was still not feeling well and was full of trepidations about how well the show would turn out as we finished our sound check. Prayer number two was answered when Joel’s cousin Joe showed up and put a Guinness in my hand. I was still feeling under the weather but just the kindness of the gift made me feel better. By the time that we were on our fourth song and I was on my second Guinness, I wasn’t feeling ill anymore. I was feeling pretty good and it wasn’t the alcohol, it was the sharing of the music with Joel and just plain old fun that made me feel better.

We finished the show, I packed up my car and instead of heading off to bed as usual, I stayed up and watched a movie. I got up about 3 hours later and I wasn’t sick anymore. I was tired and my voice as a little horse, but I felt good. I am as tired as an Egyptian pack mule right now, but I know that by the end of tomorrow night, things will be looking better!

Don’t’ let things get you down and worry about what you can’t control. Say a prayer, have some faith and just have fun!
