Well folks, it’s been a long, long month. I’ve been working crazy hours jumping from working nights to getting up 4 hours later to open the place up. I am still recovering from the craziness and I hope to be back to making some videos soon. I have been told that everything will be back to normal this week, so let’s keep the positive thoughts going.

I am doing the final editing on Folk Songs For The 5-String Banjo Volume 1 and it should be sent off to the printer by the end of the week. I have been having fun with this book and so far I have been having fun playing the tabs I’ve written. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much time to go over them, but what time I’ve had has been fun!

I think that everyone will have a lot of fun, learning and playing the tabs in this book and if the response is anything like Irish Pub Songs For The 5-String Banjo Volume 1, then it will really help a lot of people.

All I’ve wanted to do is help people play some simple melodies on frailing banjo and this is just another step in the process. I’ve gotten some great emails about the videos I’ve done and I am really happy and proud of everyone that has learned a little bit from me.

Remember that the great thing about frailing banjo is that you can sing a song and play a little bit of melody and it will sound great!

I’ll be back as soon as I can, but until then, just keep playing.

Remember: Play, Love, Learn, Do, Repeat, Repeat, Repeat!!

The Chicagoland Acoustic Jam is set to live stream at 6 pm Central Time on Saturday. I have the song list for the jam. This time we are going to stream for longer than an hour. I am not sure how long we will broadcast and we will play it by ear.

We will be playing some of the songs from last month, along with some new ones.

Just grab your instrument and play along. It will be fun and remember the important thing is to just to get the feeling of the songs and learn to play along with others. Have fun!

The Chicagoland Acoustic Jam will be livestreamed this Saturday at 6:00 PM Central Time in the US.

I will have a link up to view it just before start time.  I will have links to PDF files for the songs later tonight.

Last month, we had three jam sessions use ours to play along with and I hope we have the same kind of community fellowship this month.

I received this video today from Chris Kavanagh in Dublin. It’s an original song called “Paddy’s Day”. I loved the idea that it was filmed on the streets of Dublin. It is also one hell of a song. I might have to add it to my repertoire.
